Job Description & Responsibilities

Work as a Care Assistant will be determined based on who you’re supporting. Typical Care Assistant duties include:

  • Helping people with daily tasks like washing & dressing and providing personal care
  • Assistance when taking medication, feeding, following care plans
  • Working with other care professionals to implement any requirements for the resident
  • assisting with running leisure activities, doctors appointments at clients request sometimes outside of the home

What Skills & Experience Do I Need?

There are many paths to becoming a Care Assistant

  • BTEC, Diploma, Care Certificate or NVQ
  • All roles within a care environment you will need to provide 5 years of referencing

Formal qualifications won’t be the only requirement. You will also need to show the following:

  • 6 months of working within the UK
  • Valid DBS on the update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Knowledge of safeguarding
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willing to do personal care tasks
  • Organisational skills
  • Obeservation skills
